For a guy who was first sharpened to play soccer, who'd have thought that Rafael Nadal would make his mark in world sports history while playing tennis. This Spanish born pro tennis player has indeed come a long way from to become what he has now been known today.

This twenty-five year old tennis megastar was born in Manacor, Majorca, Spain on the 3rd of June 1986. His mum and dad are Sebastian, a businessman who own a glass window company, an insurer, and an eatery, and Ana Maria Parera. His other relation is his younger sister, Maria Isabel.

One of his uncles, Miguel Angel, was a retired professional soccer player who introduced the young Rafa to the sports. Nevertheless it was another uncle, Toni, who've seen his potential in tennis. Under his tutelage, the future superstar was able to train and get to learn the sports that he is now known for.

Rafa has been regarded by many sports gurus to be among the best names of tennis players of all time. At his age, he has earned himself a scandalous reputation for his success in contests at the clay court. Obviously, these victories has aptly earned him the name he King of Clay.

Accomplishments that Rafael Nadal was able to gather were huge for one as young as him. To date, he has won 10 singles titles in the Grand Slam. His career Grand Slam was finished when he competed in the States Open in 2010 and getting the championship, thus the youngest and only the 7th one to have accomplished the accomplishment.

Obviously, his accomplishments in tennis has caused him to pit against equally big names in the sports as well. There is his competition with Roger Federer. Both men have been pitting against each other from as early as 2004. The competition between them has indeed played a very significant part in both of their careers.

Another noteworthy rival is Novak Djokovic. He and Rafa have met in matches for twenty-nine times. If Rafa is known for being the master in clay courts, Djokovic has been famous for being an improved player in hard court. He currently holds the top seed position while Rafa, currently holds number two.

Outside the courts, Rafael Nadal is famous for being a humanitarian, with a foundation centered in providing help to youth and the children. He in addition has been thought to be a big fan of the famous Japanese anime, Dragonball. CNN even ran an article on him calling him as the Dragon Ball of tennis for his unorthodox and out of this world playing style.
