Golf Clothing For Every Occasion Suitable
For a sport that has always been perceived as nerdy and even old fashioned there has been a turnaround in recent years. The influx of younger players who are attracting worldwide media attention and the large cash prizes have done a lot to change peoples perceptions of the game. Naturally golf clothing has also shaken off its antiquated image.
The term golf clothes includes everything the player wears to keep comfortable during the game. This is including but not limited to shoes, gloves, pants, shirts and even hats. These items are meant to offer protection form the elements. In the case of gloves their main function is to prevent blistering and keep a firm grip on the club.
All clubs have guidelines regarding appropriate attire on the greens. If these are not followed to the letter they are allowed to bar the player from setting foot on the course until the clothes are correct. Gentlemen are permitted nothing less than full length trousers and a shirt with a collar.
While there is still no fixed policy on the wearing of shorts during the game there are also guidelines. The most acceptable way to wear them is knee length with a belt. Players are also required to purchase spike shoes as they are kinder to the course.
Women have a slightly easier time of it. As they are fairly new to the game the rigid rules don't apply in the same way to them. Until there is a universal ruling ladies are permitted to play in anything as long as its deemed presentable and not too revealing.
